About Fly-Chamonix
Fly Chamonix is a small structure offering personalised paragliding instruction and tandem discovery flights. Created and administered by Sean Potts, the school is frequently aided by a number of highly experienced instructors.
We are passionate about paragliding and even when we are not working, we are usually out flying for ourselves. Unlike some of our rivals who are only present for the more lucrative busy summer months, we fly all year round. We believe that to share our passion of paragliding, the instructor must still be passionate about the sport rather than seeing it simply as a source of revenue.
In Chamonix there are numerous structures that offer tandem paragliding, these range from sales agencies who take bookings and then contact other schools and instructors to arrange the flight, multi activity structures who can offer climbing, rafting, etc. These structures live off commissions and ultimately contribute little to the development of paragliding as a sport or its infrastructure (maintenance of the take off areas, landing fields etc). There are several structures and instructors that are solely focused and passionate about paragliding, have no other distractions from paragliding and contribute voluntarily to the upkeep of our sport in the Chamonix Valley; Fly Chamonix is one of these structures.
In accordance with French law all instructors hold full airsports professional liability insurance cover (5 000 000 € – 2012). All mountain guides are UIAGM mountain guides with appropriate professional liability insurance cover.

Former Britsh Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association instructor and now recognised by the French Government as a Brevet d’Etat Educateur Sportif 1er degre.
Paraglided in: France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain, U.K.,Morocco, Turkey, New Zealand, Madagascar, Pakistan.
Winner of Tandem paraglider category FFVL challenge “Vol et Ski” 2008 and paraglider solo category 2009 after eleven rounds of two day competitions in French Alps, Swiss Alps, Pyrenees and Italy. “ Second placed solo pilot in 2010. Winner Solo category 2011.
Sites officer in the organising comittee for the Paragliding club of Chamonix: “Les Gratte Ciel”.
Competition organiser for “Vol et Ski” competitions and former FFVL competition comittee member.

Enjoys hiking & flying (numerous Mt Blanc ascents & flights), paragliding with skis, speed riding.

The French Flying Federation annual quality award for compliance with recommended operating practices.
This encompasses the use of a suitable and correctly serviced tandem wing, the provision of suitable safety equipement including reserve parachute, airbag protected harnesses.
Qualified, legally declared and appropriatley insured instructors.
